Deborah Kidd is a distinguished attorney and executive with over two decades of experience in the music, entertainment, and media industries. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of PopDaze Entertainment LLC, where she spearheads strategic planning, financial management, and business development initiatives aimed at celebrating and preserving the music and pop culture of past decades. Under her leadership, PopDaze has significantly expanded its online presence and developed diverse revenue streams, including advertising, live events, merchandise sales, and digital content.
In addition to her executive role at PopDaze, Deborah is an Associate Professor in the Music Business Department at Berklee College of Music, teaching courses on “Legal Aspects of the Music Industry,” “Copyrights,” and “Contracts and Negotiations.” She has a proven track record of guiding students through complex legal concepts and preparing them for successful careers in music law and business.
Deborah’s extensive legal career includes founding and leading Kidd Legal LLC. At Kidd Legal, she provided comprehensive legal services to various artists and businesses in the entertainment industry. Her practice encompassed transactional and litigation matters in music, television, film, and social media. She acted as general counsel for small entertainment businesses, handled employment and labor law issues, provided harassment training, and offered business consultation services. Deborah’s work at Kidd Legal included advising on career planning, project strategy, revenue stream development, and content monetization.
Her professional experience also includes serving as an attorney at Richard Wayne and Associates P.C., where she advised on compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, and contract negotiation. She has represented clients in negotiations and litigation across entertainment, employment, sports, and business development sectors. Additionally, Deborah has produced video content and managed artists at Virago TV, pioneering live-streamed music and entertainment experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deborah’s educational background includes a Master of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music, an LL.M. in Entertainment and Media Law from Southwestern Law School, and a Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
