Beth Michoma is an Advocate, Arbitrator, Legislative Drafter, Author and former Council Member and Chairperson of the Gender Committee of the Law Society of Kenya. She is currently the Managing Partner of Michoma & Co Advocates, the Chief Executive Officer of Galen smart Cities, Maritime Hub Africa, and Facets of Africa.
Beth is a Member of the Financial Centre Tribunal and the Multi Sectoral Working Group on the Realization of the Two Thirds Gender Principle.
Beth is the 2021 Honouree of the International Bar Association, Outstanding International Woman Lawyer of the Year award in Honour of AnneMarie Hutchinson and the African Liaison for the Poverty and Social Development Committee of the International Bar Association.
She holds a Master of Laws with Merit from Queen Mary University of London, Specialising in Maritime,
Financial Services law (FinTech) and Commercial and Corporate Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of London, Senior Management Course and Strategic Leadership Development Programme both from the Kenya School of Government, Certificates in Financing and Investing in Infrastructure from Universita Bocconi, Foundations of Teaching for Learning: Curriculum, from the Commonwealth Education Trust, Sustainable Mobility and Smart cities for sustainable Development both from the World Bank and Certificates in International Arbitration from the Universiteit Leiden.
Beth is a member of the Law society of Kenya, the East Africa Law society, International Bar Association,
Commonwealth Lawyers Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and International Association for Legislation.
Her aspirations include Gender Equality, developing inclusive Fiscal and Financial policies, Inclusion of Womenin Maritime and promoting welfare of Seafarers, establishing Lawyers as change agents in Socio-economic development, telling the story of Africa’s success, curating African art and culture and developing Smart City policies and Infrastructure.
